Goa Is Always Good

Fine weather, lush greens & a walk in the park

When it comes to going on an impromptu holiday with the husband, Goa is always our top pick.

And now with the little one in our lives, a beach destination has become even more of a favored choice.

There are plenty of resorts/hotels to choose from. The reservations are easy. The food is fantastic. There is SUN, SAND & WATER. That for us is the ideal holiday. Anahita is a complete water baby and we couldn’t be any happier.

I love Goa. It calms you down instantly. The holiday starts as soon as you sit in the car to drive down to your hotel. The easy breeze is enough to let one snooze away.

This last trip was to mark our 5th year wedding anniversary. Hence was reason enough to splurge a little and stay at the plush, W Hotel & Resorts. And we were not disappointed.

They have the BEST music playing as soon as you enter the hotel. That set the pace of the holiday for us. Anahita n I were dancing away till Shravan did the check in formalities.

The décor is vivacious yet cozy. The vibe is young & hip. It’s a sprawling property & the highlight is definitely the Rock Bar & Pool. The sunset here is incredible, perfect setting for a few drinks by the bar.

The next 4 days were blissful to say the least.

Wake up in the morning. Have a hearty breakfast. Swim in the pool for a couple of hours. Go out for lunch. Nap. Drinks & dinner. Sleep. Repeat. The Asian fare at Spice Traders was fantastic. We ate here twice during our stay.

My favourites:

  • Son in law eggs (you read it right!)
  • Kung pao chicken (I have to have it while eating asian)
  • Black bean fish
  • Prawns in XO sauce

Being at Vagator, there were enough & more options to eat out. Although, we did end up going to Thalasa, multiple times. My favorites at Thalasa:

  • Watermelon, feta & mint salad
  • Spicy prawns saganaki
  • Chicken Gyros wrap

We also loved the laidback charm of Baba Au Rhum. Must try:

  • Mozarella pesto
  • Mediterranean pizza
  • Spicy cheese burger
  • Homemade lemonade

The holiday was so refreshing & rejuvenating. Am pretty sure we will be back again soon. Needless to say Goa is always good!
